WASTE

Have you ever stopped and thought about how much time you waste in one day? Just try it once. As you go throughout your day journal the activity, time spent and what it accomplished. It might prove very enlightening.

Here is what Paul had to say to Timothy regarding a good use of time:

Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. 5The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. 6But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. 1 Timothy 1:4 - 6 (NLT)

What should be the uniting purpose of all of our speech?

…that all believers would be filled with love…

Arguing about secondary doctrines, who has the most books in their library, who has a preacher for a dad or even who is going to win the world series…all of that and more, waste time, when we could be speaking about the incredible love of Jesus and at the same time demonstrating it to those we come into contact with.
