CONTINUE

Have you ever noticed when a child is with their mom or dad in a store that sells toys they can sometimes be relentless in their demands to get a certain toy? The incessant cries of “Mommy, mommy, I r..e..a..l..l..y want that! P l e a s e…

More often than not, the child gets that toy.

Sometimes, Mom and Dad, stick to their guns and say “not right now.” The child screams, cries or throws a fit and may win in round two. If not, and it’s something the child really wants, mom and dad get it later and give it as a present for a birthday or Christmas.

Why am I bringing this up? Just as a little child pleads with their parents for something they desire, we, as children of God plead with God for things that are important to us. We may not get them right then, but if we continue to seek our Father’s face and do His will... Well, let’s look at how Jesus put it:

Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, 2saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. 3“There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me legal protection from my opponent.’ 4“For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, 5yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’” 6And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge said*; 7now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? 8“I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:1 - 8 (NASB)

Love your Father in heaven. Behave like a good child. Ask, believing that He love you and knowing that He is able.

The SPRING Student Center began with prayer. God brought us a building, materials, workers and more. Does that mean that we can stop praying? Not if we want it to succeed! We need to continue to seek the Father’s will, guidance, direction and provision for the ongoing ministry. No matter how tired we get, if we ask for strength, He will give it. No matter how expensive an item is that we need, if we ask believing, He will supply the item or the means to attain it. God does not want us to fail, but He does want us to rely on Him for success.
